Opinion forms for submission to DBKL

Hello Friends,
Enclosed are three documents which the residents can use for the opinions form for submission to DBKL:

(i) The Simple guide gives a brief intro on how to use the draft plan vol 2 part 2 - the maps
(ii) Public opinion form has the broad objections to the draft plan - that it violates the NPP, exisitng housing estates should be EHA, etc.
(iii) Response Draft plan gives the residents an alternative response to the draft plan . This is for the residents' information only, no action required.

The residents will have to attach their own individual RA objections to (ii) which is the public opinion form with the macro objections. Each resident will have to fill in Part B (and Part C if he/she wants to verbally present)

Please return document (ii) (the opinion form macro objections) together with the RA's objections and the many pages of Part B/Part C to Thevi, CSKL by 23 August, Saturday.

2) 24 August - CSKL will count the number of objections, and call media for press coonference on monday 25

Please note that school holidays are 16 - 24 Aug, and many people might be away.

CSKL will continue to accept objection forms till 28 Aug, and will make a second handover on 29 Aug.

If there are any questions regarding the macro objections and how to fill in the form, the residents can contact Ali 012-3121280. I will also be available but will be away 17-28 Aug.

Kuala Lumpur come 2020

In May 2008, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) released a document entitled 'Draft Kuala Lumpur 2020 City Plan' which aims to mark out the direction of development for the city of Kuala Lumpur until the year 2020. Many see the publishing of this draft plan as a step in the right direction because it allows everyone, from city dwellers to developers, to see a more transparent plan of the city. Even so, there are strong arguments that this draft plan is fundamentally flawed and needs to be re-drafted.

What can You do?
